Los Angeles, July 1 (IANS/EFE) Singer Christina Aguilera will again be one of the coaches when vocal competition series ‘The Voice’ returns for a second season, NBC announced Thursday.

‘Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of ‘The Voice’ this year and we are thrilled that they are all returning,’ Paul Telegdy, executive vice president for Alternative Programming at NBC and Universal Media Studios, said in a statement.

Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are the programme’s other coaches.

Aguilera, a five-time Grammy winner, was paid $225,000 per episode for the inaugural season of ‘The Voice’, while her three colleagues received $75,000 each.

Javier Colon, a neo-soul singer from Connecticut, triumphed in the first season of ‘The Voice’, which concluded Wednesday night. He and the other finalists will begin a US tour in July.

The programme’s second season is expected to start in February 2012.
