Madrid, March 31 (IANS) Spanish Primera Liga football outfit, Osasuna, have extended the contract of coach Jose Luis Mendilibar for a another year, the club confirmed.
The former Valladolid and Athletic Club Bilbao coach will now remain in charge at Osasuna until the end of June 2013, Xinhua reported.
The new contract, which comes on the eve of Osasuna’s home game against Real Madrid is reward for Mendilibar’s excellent work at the Pamplona based outfit. He arrived at Osasuna in February 2011 with the club fighting against relegation and they are currently sixth in the league table with a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Mendilibar has coached the club in 48 games with 19 wins, 14 draws and 11 defeats.
