Bogota, July 6 (DPA) A Colombian footballer allegedly killed a fan who teased him over the team’s defeat in the recent Colombian Apertura championship final, witnesses and reports said Sunday.
According to reports, Javier Florez of the top-flight club Atletico Junior de Barranquilla was driving near his home in Barranquilla, the capital of Atlantico province, when some youths teased him over his team’s deafeat.
Miffed by the baiting, the midfielder, 27, got out of his car and shot at the group, killing one.
He then allegedly fled the scene and abandoned his vehicle, eyewitnesses said.
The police also confirmed the incident and said they were looking for Florez.
