Bogota, Feb 1 (Inditop.com/EFE) Eleven members of a drug trafficking network, including its head, were arrested by the Colombian police. The gang used to supply heroin to the US via Mexico.

The US, meanwhile, asked for the extradition of three arrested criminals, Colombian drug enforcement agency said Sunday.

The network had links with Mexican cartels which supply heroine to New York through the border between Ciudad Juarez in Mexico and El Paso in Texas.

The police operation was conducted in the cities of Bogota, Villavicencio and Popayan.

The gang used to hide the drug in garments, computers, suitcases and shoes for transportation. It started its operations in 2007, police said.
