Bogota, Oct 8 (EFE) A teenager choked to death after attaching the leash of his pet pit bull to his neck while roughhousing with the dog, Colombian media reported.
Deiner Lopez Madera, 14, was found unconscious on the floor in his home with the dog at his side.
The teenager was rushed to a hospital in the northern town of Malambo, but doctors confirmed that he had died 30 minutes earlier of asphyxiation.
Deiner was found by his sister, Carolina, who told Barranquilla’s El Heraldo daily that her brother had shut himself up in his room because their father told them to stay indoors.
“I believe the dog pulled him and he couldn’t resist the force,” she told the newspaper.
