Ranchi, April 15 (Inditop) The Congress Wednesday rubbished allegations by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) general secretary Durga Soren that the Congress was involved in a conspiracy to kill his father and party chief Shibu Soren.

“Durga is mentally sick. He should be treated in a mental hospital,” Rabindra Singh, spokesperson of the Jharkhand Congress, told IANS.

Singh said: “Who is taking care of the treatment of JMM chief Shibu Soren? If Congress is getting Shibu Soren treated then what are Durga and his brothers doing?”

Congress reaction came following Durga Soren’s statement Tuesday that the Congress was conspiring against his father.

“Some of the party leaders are hatching a conspiracy to kill my father through wrong treatment. Even Congress is involved in the conspiracy,” Durga had said while addressing a public rally Tuesday in Dumka district.

Durga Soren is the eldest son of Shibu Soren and he has been issued a show cause notice for contesting against the Congress candidate from Godda Lok Sabha seat.

Durga Soren claims to be the executive president of the party in absence of Shibu SOren.

Shibu Soren is being treated for urinary tract infection and heart problem in All India Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi.

On the issue of alliance between Congress and JMM, Singh said: “Seat sharing was finalised with the consent of Shibu Soren. Congress is watching what stand JMM is taking on Durga Soren, who is contesting the elections despite seat sharing.”

The JMM and the Congress had agreed not to field candidates on a seat where the other had a sitting MP. They are fighting each other on two Lok Sabha seats – Koderma and Hazaribagh.
