Nicosia, July 17 (IANS) Cyprus has banned the use of vuvuzelas in all sports stadiums, terming it as a ‘dangerous object’.

The plastic trumpets, made famous in South Africa during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, will be confiscated if fans take them to stadiums, Xinhua reported citing police officials.

A police statement said vuvuzelas were considered ‘dangerous’. It added that such ‘dangerous objects’ could cause bodily harm or material damage.
