Los Angeles, Aug 14 (IANS) British filmmaker Danny Boyle, known for films like ‘Trainspotting’ and ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, is all set to close October’s London Film Festival with the screening of his next film ‘127 Hours’.
The festival also screened Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2008, reports Imdb.com.
The movie ‘127 Hours’ portrays the true struggle of Aron Ralston – the American hiker who was trapped under a boulder in 2003 and managed to survive by severing his arm with a dull pocket knife.
‘Having closed the festival with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2008, it is unprecedented for us to choose a closing night film from the same director only two years later…But ‘127 Hours’ was the obvious choice for us – with film-making as bold and adventurous as its subject matter – it confirms Danny Boyle as one of the world’s finest and most visionary directors,’ Festival’s director Sandra Hebron was quoted as saying.
Slated for Nov 5 release, the film stars James Franco, French actress Clemence Poesy, actress Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara.
Boyle has once again teamed up with Fox Searchlight Pictures, producer Christian Colson and writer Simon Beaufoy for the action drama.
