Berlin, Sep 20 (IANS) Frankfurt scored two goals within the first 12 minutes and romped to a 3-0 triumph over Bordeaux at home in Europa League’s opening round.

Frankfurt ensured a perfect start into the group stage of Europa League as Vaclav Kadlec, Marco Russ and Constant Djakpa scored three goals that gave them three points in group F Thursday, reports Xinhua.
The ‘Eagles’ started brilliantly with new signing Kadlec breaking the deadlock with just four minutes on the clock.
The Czech international, who scored his fourth goal in as many matches, utilised a deflected ball by teammate Stefan Aigner to tap in into the near post corner from very close range.
The “Girondins” were unable to match the pace of the visitors as Frankfurt’s Marco Russ doubled the lead in the 16th minute.
Russ handled Tranquillo Barnetta’s build up work to beat Bordeaux’s goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso into the bottom left.
Bordeaux’s best chances were on set-pieces, after Frankfurt’s well-positioned defence denied the visitors access into their box.
Frankfurt killed the game as Djakpa made use of a set-piece situation, on the edge of the box, to curl the ball over the wall into the bottom left corner, for the 3-0 lead.
Frankfurt sit atop the standings in group F, followed by APOEL, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Bordeaux.
