London, July 30 (IANS) A 72-year-old florist in Britain stabbed to death an armed robber who with an accomplice raided his shop.
Cecil Coley had his jaw broken when two masked intruders Tuesday burst into the store in Old Trafford, Manchester, pistol-whipping him and an elderly friend and demanding money, the Daily Express reported.
During a struggle, suspected robber Gary Mullings, 30, was allegedly knifed by Coley through the heart. Another man, Kyle, also suffered a stab wound.
For the last two days Coley has been questioned on suspicion of murder – first in the hospital as he recovered from his beating and later at a nearby police station.
On Friday evening, however, Greater Manchester Police confirmed Coley had been released on police bail until Sep 9.
