Dubai, May 18 (Inditop.com/WAM) Flydubai, Dubai’s low-cost airline, has launched its first flight to Kabul, which the airline says is an “important step forward in the re-emergence of Afghanistan”.

UAE ambassador to Afghanistan Yousuf Khamis Saeed Subaa Al Ali and Flydubai’s chief operations officer Ken Gile travelled 1,688 km to Kabul on board a brand new Boeing-737 aircraft.

“Flydubai’s inaugural flight to Kabul speaks volumes about the growth of the region’s aviation sector. Kabul is 3,500 years old while Dubai is very much defined by the modern era. The UAE has brought together the world’s diverse communities to one of its most futuristic and forward-looking countries,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s chief executive officer.

“The start of Flydubai’s service to Kabul is an important step forward in the re-emergence of Afghanistan. Flydubai is responding to the need for quality, reliable, safe and low cost air travel between Kabul and Dubai, which is home to a sizeable Afghan population,” he said.
