Beijing, Jan 3 (IANS) The Forbidden City or the imperial palace in the Chinese capital has for the first time published a catalogue detailing the contents in its vast collections.
According to a statement issued by the palace museum Thursday, the catalogue contains information on both precious and general cultural relics, Xinhua reported.
The contents are divided into 18 categories, including bronzeware, enamel vessels, sculptures, religious artefacts and foreign cultural relics.
A second catalogue featuring seven other categories will be released at a later time, the statement said. Work on the first catalogue took place between 2004 and 2010.
