Abu Dhabi, Jan 1 (IANS/WAM) The ministry of economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will organise a forum Jan 14 to highlight the success of more than 130 UAE companies that have operations and investments abroad.
“The UAE foreign investments have gained global reputation for achieving geographical and sectoral diversity and strengthening the global economy by creating employment opportunities in developing and developed countries,” Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri said.
He added that the policies and government support to entrepreneurs have contributed to the emergence of regional suppliers with global ambitions. “This has enabled companies from the UAE to have their presence in more than 100 countries around the world.”
He said the UAE’s share of foreign direct investment abroad amounted to 34 percent of the total investment of the region. The cumulative value of UAE’s investment abroad is about 350 billion UAE dirham, according to UNCTAD.
