London, Oct 1 (IANS) Singer George Michael has cancelled the Australian leg of his tour due to “major anxiety” following his battle with pneumonia.
The 49-year-old issued a statement on his website that his shows scheduled in November and December had to be cancelled, reports contactmusic.com.
The announcement also stated that those who purchased the tickets for his shows will receive a full refund.
After completing a successful European leg of the tour over the summer, Michael is set to perform at nine concerts in Britain in October.
He also explained that once his shows in Britain are over, he will receive “long overdue” treatment for his symptoms.
Michael was admitted into Vienna General Hospital’s intensive care unit after being taken ill during his Symphonica tour in 2011.
