Accra (Ghana), Sep 16 (IANS) Ghana’s ‘Black Stars’ have been drawn against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the qualifying play-off for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The draw took place at the head office of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Egypt Monday. Ghana, which topped Group D of the qualifiers, will play home in the first leg of the two-leg game in October with the return match set for the weekend of Nov 15-19. The aggregate winner qualifies to the finals in Brazil, reports Xinhua.
The last time Ghana played Egypt, seven-time African champions, was the final of the 2010 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Angola where Egypt won 1-0.
Cote d’Ivoire will play Senegal while Nigeria takes on Ethiopia.
Tunisia, which qualified after Cape Verde was dropped, will play Cameroon while Algeria will travel to Burkina Faso in the first leg.
