Berlin, Nov 9 (IANS) Hannover and Braunschweig share the spoils at the Lower Saxony derby following a goalless 90 minutes, to open the 12th round of German Bundesliga Friday.

The fans of the Lower Saxony derby waited 37 years with bated breath for a local derby but unfortunately, both sides were incapable to break the deadlock, reported Xinhua.
However, the draw between the local rivals Hannover and Braunschweig makes history as it is the first tie of a Lower Saxony derby in the first division and, the 1000th draw overall in the Bundesliga history.
Hannover settled on a ball possession of 70 percent yet they lacked in ideas to turn their possession into the lead. Meanwhile, Braunschweig established a bulwark to give the hosts a hard and courageous fight over 90 minutes.
Despite Hannover’s dominant performance they missed to break the spell after seven winless games. Relegation threatened Braunschweig earned their eight draw of the season.
The following fixtures are scheduled for Saturday: leaders Bayern Munich host Augsburg, Schalke face Werder Bremen, third placed Leverkusen see Hamburg, Wolfsburg meet runner up Dortmund, Hoffenheim encounter Berlin and Nuremberg visit Monchengladbach.
