Kabul, July 14 (Xinhua) A helicopter of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Tuesday crashed in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, an official said.

“The helicopter was supplying two packages, apparently food staff, to ISAF base in Sangin district,” said Fazal Haq, a district official. The crash took place some two km west of Helmand town.

Haq did not say if there were any casualties. But he ruled out the involvement of hostile fire in the incident.

Taliban’s purported spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi has claimed responsibility for the incident.
