New Delhi, May 26 (IANS) After having worked in the film industry for almost a decade and exploring his passion for radio jockeying, actor Suresh Menon is now going to start a production house of his own.

‘I have set up a company of my own and currently going through scripts. My production house is in its pre-production stage,’ Menon told IANS in an interview.

Menon started off as a comic actor and agrees that he has been typecast to the genre for a long time.

‘I established myself as a comic actor. So, I was offered and got restricted in those limitations,’ Menon said about being typecast in his initial years of career.

‘I was typecast to the genre but I worked hard to get through the image and tried a lot of different roles. The role that I played in Blessy’s ‘Bhramaram’ (2009) was a break as it showcased my serious side,’ the actor added.

Menon will next be seen in SAB TV’s ‘Maniben.com’ as he dons a look influenced by the South Indian character Quick Gun Murugun.

‘My character’s name is Quick Gum, a detective in the show. He is extremely funny. I like the experiment that we have done with my looks – it is attractive, appealing and funny at the same time,’ he said.

‘As South Indian characters are close to my heart, I did not have to make any special effort to get into the groove of my character. I like my accent and the one liner that I use often in the show ‘Find it’,’ he added.

Menon started his film career in 1997 with ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. He has done other films like ‘Dewane Hue Pagal’ (2005), ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), ‘Krazzy 4’ (2007) and ‘Partner’ (2007), among others.

Apart from acting in films and television, he has also hosted a number of radio shows.

‘I love the dimensions I explored for myself… films, television, radio jockeying. I have lent my voice for a lot of radio shows and even as voice overs (dubbing) for films,’ he said.

Menon’s future projects include the sequel of ‘Tom Dick and Harry’, Shah Rukh Khan’s production venture ‘Ra.One’, director Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Problem’ and Sunil Shetty’s production venture ‘Mumbai ChakaChak’ starring Rahul Bose and Mandira Bedi, among others.
