Sharm-el-Sheikh, July 15 (Inditop.com) A day before Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani meet here, the two foreign secretaries continued their talks Wednesday night, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said without committing himself to whether a joint statement was in the offing.
“We are still in a conversation and we are still talking,” Menon told reporters, adding that the two had met several times during the day on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit.
“Whether there is a joint statement or not, we’ll let you know tomorrow,” the foreign secretary said.
Menon had met his Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir for a 90-minute one-on-one interaction for “good, detailed discussions”.
Gilani and Manmohan Singh are scheduled to meet at 10.30 a.m. Thursday.
