London, Feb 5 (Inditop.com) Opposition leader David Cameron, bidding to become the next prime minister of Britain, put bettering relations with India on the top of his international agenda.

Cameron Friday described the ties between India and Britain as a “special relationship”.

Launching the UK India Business Leaders Climate Group, Cameron said he chose India to be his first foreign destination after taking charge of the Conservative Party.

The Conservative Party, Britain’s largest in the opposition, leads the ruling Labour party in opinion polls ahead of elections due by June 3.

“There is a special relationship between Britain and India. There is a case for the relationship to get stronger and stronger.”

Cooperation in clean energy will be a major part of the relationship between India and Britain, Cameron told top business leaders at a meeting organised at the London Business School.
