Dhaka, Feb 2 (IANS) Indian golfers Manav Das and Khalin Joshi won the team title, while Manav extended his individual lead to seven shots at the Bangladesh Open Amateur golf Championships here Thursday.

Das, who shot 69 in first round, scored 68 in second and is now seven-under 137 for two rounds.

The next best is Abdus Sobarhan (70-73) and he is one-under, but the best official entry from Bangladesh, Md. Nazim, was another stroke behind after rounds of 73 and 71 at the Kurmitola Golf Club here.

Defending champion Joshi shot another 74 and was tied eighth at 148.

The Indian duo of Manav and Joshi emerged winners in the team event as they aggregated 285 for two days and finished 10 strokes ahead of the Bangladesh A team, Sajib Ali and Dulal Hussain, who were at 295. Sri Lanka’s N. Thangaraja and Vijita Bhandara also totalled 295 but lost on countback.

Apart from hosts Bangladesh, golfers from Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are participating in the five-day meet.
