Accra, Sep 30 (IANS) An executive development programme on international business organised jointly by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), opened here Monday.

The programme will be held till Oct 4, a statement an Indian High Commission statement s said.
The programme, “will be conducted by the a three-member faculty consisting of professors Biswajit Nag, Nitin Seth and Pooja Lakhanpal from the IIFT”.
The programme is part of the decisions taken at India-Africa Forum Summit 2008. The IIFT has been given the responsibility of conducting a series of executive development programmes on international business in various African countries over a period of five years which will lead to the building of up an pan-African India Africa Institute of Foreign Trade (IAIFT) at Ugandan capital Kampala.
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, a premier Institute in the area of international business, offers a wide range of capacity building programmes in various areas of international business in India and abroad for trade and industry, policymakers and negotiators.
It also conducts a two-year MBA programme in international business in collaboration with the Institute of Finance Management, Dar-es-Salaam.
“The programme has received an overwhelming response. As a result, the original limit of 50 participants has been increased to 65 to accommodate the requests,” the statement said.
“The executive development programme aims at capacity building in key sectors by developing required skills and professional competence among entrepreneurs, government officials, professionals and corporate executives,” it added.
