Tehran, June 16 (IANS) The Iranian negotiating team left for Vienna Monday for crucial nuclear talks with the world powers.
Iran will do its best to start drafting a comprehensive nuclear accord in its meeting with the P5+1 or the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the US, China, Russia, France, Britain plus Germany, Xinhua quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying.
Despite “differences of opinions” over Iran’s nuclear issue, a comprehensive deal between Iran and the world powers is “possible” before July 20, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday.
The West demands Iran to lower its uranium enrichment capacity.
It has also expressed concerns over Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor which might be used for building nuclear weapons.
But Iran insists on the “peaceful” nature of its nuclear activities, calling for a complete removal of sanctions.
A fresh round of high-level nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers will start Monday in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
