Tehran, Sep 7 (DPA) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has nominated another woman for the education ministry after his first female nominee was rejected by the parliament, a media report said Sunday.
Ahmadinejad has introduced parliament deputy Fatemeh Alia as replacement for the rejected Susan Keshavarz, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The parliament Thursday rejected both Keshavarz for the education and Fatemeh Ajoulou for the social welfare ministry.
The legislative power however approved Marzieh Vahid-Dastjerdi as the first-ever female minister (for health) in the 30-year history of the Islamic republic.
Ahmadinejad also nominated Ali Zabihi for the vacant energy minister post but no candidate yet for the social welfare ministry.
