Kabul, June 26 (DPA) An explosion that rocked Kabul Saturday was caused by the accidental detonation of a mine, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said, defusing fears of a terror attack.

‘All we know is that an anti-personnel mine was detonated while it was being carried by an Afghan National Army vehicle,’ an ISAF spokesman said.

The explosion took place close to the Chinese embassy and a UN office, Zamarai Bashary, a spokesman for the interior ministry, said earlier. There were no reports of casualties.

Another security official, had claimed the blast, which occurred on the street where the foreign ministry is located, was caused by an Afghan army vehicle packed with explosives.
