Sydney, Sep 1 (IANS) Two minor girls – aged four and five – fell out of a first-floor window while jumping on a bed kept adjacent to it in Sydney.
The four-year-old girl is in an induced coma after she hit her head, but broke the fall of her five-year-old friend who landed on top of her and escaped with minor injuries Tuesday night, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Wednesday.
Police said the girls were jumping on a bed, next to a window in the bedroom of a two-storey house on Eldridge Road, at around 8.30 p.m.
Both girls were taken to a hospital. While the five-year-old was released later, the four-year-old was transferred to another speciality hospital, where she remains in an induced coma.
‘Parents need to keep a close eye on young children at all times and take the utmost care to secure windows in multi-levelled residences to avoid such occurrences,’ a police official said.
