Paris, Sep 1 (IANS) Cote d’Ivoire striker Salomon Kalou has moved from French Ligue 1 club Lille to Bundesliga’s Hertha Berlin, just a day before the summer transfer window closes.
No financial details have been released for the 29-year-old former Chelsea forward, reports Xinhua.
“Kalou is a top striker,” said Hertha general manager Michael Preetz Sunday night.
“He has proved his class in the Premier League, Champions League and with his national team. We’re very happy to have him with us.”
Having scored 30 goals in 67 league appearances for Lille in two years, Kalou is expected to replace Colombian striker Adrian Ramos, who recently moved to anther German club Borussia Dortmund.
Kalou began his career with Dutch side Feyenoord before switching in 2006 to Chelsea, where he scored 60 goals in 251 games and won the Champions League with the English Premier League team.
