Islamabad, July 31 (IANS) Angry residents of Karachi attacked a liquor store and burned it down, saying it had no right to be present in a Muslim society, a media report said Sunday.
Residents of Surjani Town area said they had already cautioned the shop owner to move his business from the area, but he did not comply with the demand, the Daily Times reported.
Hundreds of people gathered Saturday outside the shop and torched it.
Police meanwhile said a case would also be registered against the shop owner if, according to reports, it was proved that he did not have a licence to run it.
