Dhaka, June 4 (IANS) Bangladesh batsman Mahmudullah Riyad has been ruled out of the forthcoming series against India after a scan revealed a fractured finger.

Mahmudullah hurt the index finger of his left hand while practicing slip catches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday, reports bdnews24.com.
Later, he was taken to a hospital for the scan that showed he had fractured the finger, said team physio Bayezid Islam Khan.
“Riyad has hurt the index finger of his left hand during slip practices (Thursday) morning. An X-ray scan has been performed that showed a fracture,” he said.
“His finger is being held with a clip for now. It may take him three to four weeks to recover from the fracture. More tests need to be done.”
Mahmudullah was later taken to another hospital in the afternoon.
He is out of the one-off Test against India, which starts on June 10, and is expected to miss the three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) as well.
The ODIs will be played on June 18, 21 and 24. All the day-night matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Earlier on Thursday, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza escaped serious injuries after a bus hit a rickshaw in which he was going to the practice.
The 31-year-old pacer sustained bruises in the palm under his right hand thumb and some portion of his left hand.
