Kuala Lumpur, Dec 29 (IANS) A Malaysian businessman has hit a multi-million jackpot by using his car chassis number.

He won more than RM11million ($3.5 million) in prize money, The Star reported Wednesday.

The identity of the man from Selangor state has not been revealed.

He was elated when he thought that he had won the second jackpot of RM600,000 ($193,986) when the results came out Sunday.

However, when he got in touch with the officials concerned, he was shocked when told that he had actually won RM11,070,547.

The man didn’t realise that the 4D Jackpot game had a cascading feature which kicks in when no one wins the first prize.

The cascading feature meant that one-third of the first prize amount cascaded down into the second jackpot, giving the second jackpot winner an additional sum in winnings.

The man, who is in his fifties, bought 8341 and 1922 – which together make the chasis number of his car – as his Jackpot combination numbers, both of which were drawn as second prize and special prize respectively.

When interviewed, the man said he will use the money to expand his own business and help his son’s business. He will also invest in a shop for his wife. He will donate a portion of his winnings to charity.
