Kolkata, May 26 (IANS) Maoists allegedly opened fire indiscriminately early Wednesday in West Bengal’s west Midnapore district killing a teenaged boy, police said.
According to police, the Maoists barged into a village near Pingboni and let loose a hail of bullets. Santosh Mal, a teenager, died on the spot.
‘The rebels entered the village and started firing indiscriminately. Santosh Mal was killed on the spot,’ said Inspector General of Police (Western Range) Zulfiqar Hasan.
Maoists are active in West Bengal’s three western districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
