Rio de Janeiro, April 3 (IANS) The Maracana Stadium which will host the 2014 football World Cup final, will be open for public viewing from April 14 despite continued delays in construction works.
Visitors will be taken on an hour-long guided tour of the stadium and be granted access to the playing arena, Xinhua reported.
Maracana, which will host seven games during the tournament, is undergoing a $470 million revamp.
A FIFA report said the stadium needed to have its roof completed by October to be ready for next year’s Confederations Cup. When complete, the venue will boast of an 85,000 capacity.
