Hong Kong, May 1 (IANS/EFE) Director Mariana Chenillo’s ‘Cinco dias sin Nora’ and Gabriel Guzman’s comedy ‘La nuera de Don Filemon’ will open the Second Mexican Film Festival in Hong Kong Monday.

‘Salvando al soldado Perez’, a comedy directed by Beto Gomez and starring Gerardo Taracena, Joaquin Cosio and Jaime Camil, will make its debut at the festival, along with ‘La ultima muerte’, a science fiction film directed by David Ruiz, the organisers said.

The festival will screen nine short films, four feature films and a documentary ‘El viaje del cometa’.

The films will give Hong Kong moviegoers a taste of Mexican cinema. The festival should also boost ties between Hong Kong’s film industry and its Mexican counterpart, the organisers said.

The second edition of the festival, organised by the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong will run till May 5 at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre.
