Los Angeles, Nov 30 (IANS) A 1928 movie poster featuring iconic character Mickey Mouse sold for more than $100,000 at a recent US auction.

The advertisement, believed to be one of the earliest surviving Mickey Mouse posters, was snapped up by an unidentified bidder for $101,575 when it went under the hammer at the Heritage Auctions sale in Dallas, Texas, reports contactmusic.com.
The poster, created by Walt Disney, depicts Mickey smiling and waving, while a tagline calls the animated icon “The World’s Funniest Cartoon Character”.
Grey Smith, director of movie poster auctions at Heritage Auctions, called the item “an important piece of pop culture treasure”.
