Bangkok, Nov 30 (IANS) Protesters in Thailand occupied the premises of a few more government units Saturday as part of their plots to seize all government agencies in the capital and suburbs Sunday.

Led by former deputy premier Suthep Thaugsuban, hundreds of protesters invaded and occupied the headquarters of the Department of Special Investigation, the Communications Authority of Thailand and the Telephone Organisation of Thailand on Jang Wattana road in Bangkok’s suburbs, reports Xinhua.
There was no government personnel inside the premises when the protesters seized, entered and occupied the offices. No violence was reported to have occurred at these premises.
The protesters planned to occupy all government agencies and declare “the people’s victory” Sunday. The government premises which Suthep planned to occupy include the government house, the headquarters of the national police, and ministries, and provincial halls in all parts of the country.
Earlier, the protesters seized a government complex where Suthep and his followers have stayed in Jang Wattana area and the finance ministry in Payathai area.
At the government house, barricades and water trucks have been prepared to deter the protesters who might invade and occupy it Monday. The government’s “war room” was transferred from the government house to the police club in the outskirts on Vibhavadi Rangsit road.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra called on Suthep and other leaders to come over for dialogue, while Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok reassured that the government will use no force to deal with the protesters.
Suthep has rejected all offers for talk and said the protesters will not stop even if Yingluck resigned or dissolved the house of representatives to call a snap election.
He said the massive protests will not stop until the “Thaksin rule” allegedly carried out by the Yingluck government has been put to an end. He referred to former Thai leader Thaksin Shinawatra, the brother of the prime minister who was ousted in 2006’s coup.
Suthep resigned as an opposition Democrat Party lawmaker to lead the protests.
