New York/Hamburg, Jan 23 (DPA) The death toll from the earthquake in Haiti has reached over 111,000, the latest official figures showed Saturday.
By Friday, 111,481 bodies had been recovered, according to the Haitian government, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in New York.
The figure represents the first precise number of deaths since the magnitude-7 earthquake struck Jan 12.
The Haitian government Friday declared the search for survivors over.
