Belo Horizonte, Aug 31 (IANS) Bolivia international striker Marcelo Moreno struck twice as Corinthians extended their lead at the top of Brazil’s Serie A championship with a 4-2 victory over Chapecoense.

Moreno struck either side of half-time while Leo and Alisson were also on target for the hosts at the Mineirao stadium Saturday night, reports Xinhua.
Zezinho and Bruno Rangel scored a goal in each half for the visitors.
The victory was Cruzeiro’s 13th of the season and took them eight points clear at the top of the standings.
Chapecoense are 15th, just three points away from the relegation zone as the season approaches its halfway point.
Meanwhile, a Jorge Henrique strike gave Internacional a 1-0 win at Palmeiras in Saturday’s only other match.
