Islamabad, Jan 31 (IANS) The NATO air strike on two Pakistan Army check-posts that killed 24 soldiers was not deliberate and it will be ensured that such incidents do not recur, US ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter said Tuesday.
Munter Tuesday said the attack was an “accident” and the US “regrets” it, Geo News reported.
The NATO attack in Mohmand Agency in November sparked outrage in the country. Islamabad cut off NATO supplies to Afghanistan via Pakistani territory and told the US to vacate the Shamsi air base in Balochistan.
Pakistan also boycotted a conference in Bonn in December that focussed on the security of Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign troops.
