Los Angeles, March 30 (IANS) Singer Ne-Yo, known for songs like “Give me everything” and “Miss Independent”, has named his five-month-old Mason Evan and says he thoughtfully selected the name for his second child.

In addition to Mason, he and Monyetta Shaw are also parents to daughter Madilyn Grace, who is 16 months old.
“We needed him (Mason) to have a name that felt like a gentleman, like somebody you have to respect, Mason Evan Smith, you have to respect that name,” people.com quoted Ne-Yo as saying.
“I’m not going to be that dude that predestines my children’s future, I’m just going to do my best so that my daughter doesn’t end up on a pole and my son doesn’t end up on the corner. And whatever they do outside of that is pretty much their decision,” he said.
The singer admits that it’s difficult to work full-time with two kids at home.
“I missed (Madilyn)’s first words, I gotta say the best thing about having two kids is just having two kids,” he said.
