Riyadh, May 2 (IANS) Saudi Arabia has said the death of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was a step forward for international forces in combating global terrorism.
Bin Laden was killed in a US operation in Pakistan’s Abbottabad near Islamabad.
An official with the Saudi government said the country has also been a target of Al Qaeda in the past. Many innocent Saudi people became victims of the terrorist outfit, the official told the state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The official reiterated that terrorist acts, killing of innocent people and destabilisation of security and stability of the society is forbidden according to the Holy Quran.
