London, May 31 (IANS) A man of Pakistani origin has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend in a subway in Britain’s Berkshire city. She was a trained kick-boxer from Thailand.
Thai-born Tuanjai Sprengel, 43, was dating Muhammad Shafi, 28, who is now accused of killing her. She was battered on the head from behind and suffered a deep puncture wound to her throat, The Sun reported.
The victim was found Sunday morning in Bracknell town and Shafi was arrested six hours later in the couple’s one-bed flat a few hundred yards from the scene.
Neighbours said Sprengel, mother to a child, and Shafi planned to wed in Thailand this year before flying to his parents’ home in Pakistan for a second ceremony.
