The match was played at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium Sunday, one of the four places where the event is being held from March 15 to April 4, reports Xinhua.
Under hot weather, Paraguayans and New Zealanders played a balanced game, with the South Americans appearing more offensive.
Daisy Cleverley opened for New Zealand (68th minute) and Paraguayan Sheryl Barrios equalised with a header.
