Los Angeles, Sep 11 (IANS) The release of the fifth installment of fantasy adventure film “Pirates of the Caribbean” has been reportedly pushed to 2016.
The start of production on the film has been delayed until at least this fall, thereby delaying its release. It was earlier slated to hit the screens July 10, 2015.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said there are issues with the script and they are hoping to release the movie in summer 2016, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Jeff Nathanson is working on the screenplay for the “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” and Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg are signed up to direct it.
“We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done… We want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on,” Bruckheimer said.
Featuring actor Johnny Depp, the first four films of the franchise grossed more than $3.7 billion at the box office worldwide.
