London, Oct 1 (IANS) A seven-year-old boy in the US suffers from a host of severe allergies and cannot go to school. He sends an interactive robot instead, through which he answers teachers’ questions and chats with classmates.

Devon Carrow-Sperduti from Buffalo, US, attends every class through his interactive “Roboswot”, The Sun reported.
The boy’s face appears via webcam on the robot, which is linked to his home computer.
Devon suffers from many allergies that can prove fatal for him if he mixes with other children.
He spends most of his time in isolation and can eat only apples, corn and potato.
The boy sits at a desk at his home, and uses his computer to control the robot, which lets him see his teacher, the blackboard and the rest of the class.
The robot also has wheels, and so it can travel along school corridors and let Devon join in the playground gossip.
“He (Devon) does exactly the same schoolwork as any other child. The only difference is that Devon is not in the classroom,” his mother Rene told The Sun.
