Moscow, June 1 (IANS/RIA Novosti) An eight-year-old boy abandoned on a plane to Russia by his US adoptive mother is likely to find a new home with a Russian diplomat family.

According to Russian children’s ombudsman Pavel Astakhov, the boy named Artyom was likely to be adopted by a diplomat family working in an English-speaking country.

‘I pay careful attention to Artyom’s affairs,’ Astakhov said.

The boy arrived in Moscow April 8 carrying a note from his adoptive mother, Torry Hansen from Tennessee, which said she was rejecting him as he was ‘psychopathic’.

According to media reports, the boy had ‘forgotten’ his native tongue when he arrived in Russia after less than a year in the US. However, Astakhov said he already spoke Russian well.
