Karachi, May 26 (IANS) Pakistan’s Salman Butt feels it is difficult for batsmen, particularly openers, to face Australian and England bowlers in English conditions.
The left-handed batsman, who was Pakistan’s leading scorer in the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, said he is preparing to face world class bowlers in the upcoming tours which he says are ‘very tough’ assignments.
Pakistan will take part in Asia Cup starting from June 15 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka before leaving for the three-month tour of England.
‘Facing Australian and England bowlers in English conditions is a very difficult job for any batsmen especially for the openers and I am getting prepared for it,’ the Lahore-based batsman said in an interview.
He said his team would have to give do its best to overcome their opponents. Butt said he is first target is to perform in Dambulla against the fellow Asian rivals.
‘Batting in Dambulla for the first few hours is difficult and my main focus right now is the Asia Cup’, he said. The batsman feels toss would play an important role in the continental competition saying the team batting second will get advantage.
