Beijing, July 27 (IANS) At least six people were killed and 18 remained missing after a mud-rock flow hit a mountain village in China’s Shaanxi province, authorities said Tuesday.

The rain-triggered mud-rock flow hit Qiaoergou village of Shangluo City’s Shanyang County last Saturday, burying about 30 people, an official told Xinhua.

About 530 villagers were evacuated.

Rescuers have retrieved six bodies and the missing people were thought to have a slim chance of survival, the official said.
