Baghdad, Feb 28 (IANS) At least six people were killed and 42 injured Saturday in two car bombings at a marketplace in Iraq’s Diyala province.
The attack occurred when two booby-trapped cars detonated in quick succession at a crowded market in the town of Baladruz, a security official told Xinhua news agency.
The toll could rise as many of the injured were in critical condition.
The coordinated attacks took place despite the fact that Iraqi security forces had announced they have freed the whole province of Diyala from the Islamic State (IS) terror group, the official added.
