Stockholm, July 31 (Xinhua) Six crewmembers of a Norwegian cargo ship were missing Friday after the vessel sank off the coast of Sweden, officials said.
The cargo ship Langeland was on its way to Moss in Norway when the incident took place.
The crew had sent a distress signal at about 4 a.m. Friday, the Swedish Maritime Administration said in a statement.
Officials said the ship was off the coast of Ramso in western Sweden when the distress call was received.
Swedish coast guard vessels and a helicopter have been deployed to search for the missing crew and the ship.
