Madrid, June 4 (IANS) Real Sociedad coach David Moyes will be going nowhere this summer despite rumours linking him with a return to the English Premier League.

Sociedad club president Jokin Aperribay on Wednesday commented on the official website that after leading the side out of the relegation zone in Spain’s La Liga to a comfortable 12th place finish, Moyes would stay in San Sebastian for at least another year, reports Xinhua.
Former Everton and Manchester United coach, Moyes has been rumoured to be interesting Sunderland and West Ham United and had also been linked with Newcastle. But according to Aperribay, the 52-year-old has not discussed leaving before his contract expires at the end of June 2016.
“Moyes has never spoken to us about this. If anything, we have heard these rumours from the media. He has never suggested the possibility to go back to England,” said the Sociedad president.
Aperribay added that the club had made a big effort to sign the Scot, who rather than looking at a return to England, was planning for the new campaign in Spain.
One player who probably won’t form part of Sociedad is Burnley striker Danny Ings, who scored 11 goals last season. Although Aperribay admitted the club had “monitored him since the winter transfer market… He has a lot of offers from England,” and it looks “highly unlikely” he will move to Spain.
